Teasdale Apothecary Co. is an independently owned full-service community and compounding pharmacy in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, with the charm of a vintage apothecary.

Our Services

Teasdale Apothecary Co. is a full-service community and compounding pharmacy. What does that mean? It means we offer all of the same services you’d find at any other pharmacy, and our special on-site lab gives us the ability to create customized medications to meet a wider range of health needs.  

Our pharmacy team can:

• Fill your prescriptions

• Assess and prescribe for minor ailments, such as shingles/herpes zoster, UTIs, and bladder infections

• Assess your needs and prescribe birth control

• Issue emergency prescriptions  

• Administer injections and immunizations (including for COVID-19)

• Provide basic and advanced medication reviews

• Consult on women’s health, smoking cessation, and chronic disease management (such as diabetes, cardiovascular, asthma/COPD)

• Test your blood glucose and blood pressure

• Test for strep throat

• Provide Naloxone

• Provide Methadone/Suboxone services

• Compound medications in our (non-sterile) on-site lab

Prescriptions

Our pharmacy team fills all types of prescriptions. We prioritize offering you thorough, personalized care, while making your pharmacy experience as convenient as possible. This includes an automatic refill service, refill reminders, in-town deliveries, an on-line refill service. 

We direct bill all major insurance companies, and our dispensing fee is on par with most major chain pharmacies. Your prescriptions will cost you the same amount and come with personalized, exemplary service.

Reusable Glass Vial Program

As part of our commitment to waste reduction, Teasdale Apothecary Co. is proud to offer all of our customers the option to have your prescriptions filled in reusable glass vials instead of single-use plastic. Compounding

Compounding is the art and science of creating custom medications from raw materials. It allows for the creation of specific dosages or alternative formats for patients (including pets!) with specific needs. It is commonly used in sports medicine, dermatology, veterinary medicine, and hormone treatments, just to name a few.

Delivery

We provide free prescription deliveries within Antigonish town limits. Let pharmacy staff know if you require a delivery. Please note, someone must be available to receive the prescription upon delivery.
